1 WEEK IN PARIS
Just wanted to share all of my favourite photos from Paris with you beauties and update you on our trip! I knew I was going to love Paris but I didn’t quite understand how much I was going to love it. Maybe it’s normal to feel that way when you visit Europe for the first time but I instantly felt like I had found my native land and my people. It’s very hard to explain the feeling I had but all I can say is I’ve never felt that way about a city before. It was a similar feeling of belonging + aliveness that I had when I fell in love with Jose and secretly hoped he'd be my husband.
I can’t put my finger on why I love it so much but for starters I’ve never felt so inspired in my life. The architecture, museums, art, Parisian apartments, the super chic and sophisticated people, the wine, cheese, bread and croissants but most of all the laid-back attitude and the super chic + effortless style of the people.
I left feeling like I was meant to stay so hopefully it’s somewhere my life will bring me back to as much as possible. One week didn't feel like enough so we barely slept and tried to squeeze in as much as possible. Here’s my condensed list if you get the opportunity to visit.
STAY: Le Grand Pigalle Hotel is in a really great area and located close to the Roissy Bus stop which we used to get to and from the airport. I loved the corner balcony we had, we had our coffee + croissants in the morning and wine + cheese (yes all I did was eat cheese + baguette) in the evenings. The mid-century meets modern vibe was exactly what we wanted.
SIGHTS: The Louvre Museum, Palais Royale, Eiffel Tower, The Pont Alexandre III are all a must!
SHOP: The Galeries Lafayette - This an epic department store, make sure you head to the rooftop for a drink + to take in the epic view afterwards head to Printemps!
Le Marais – My friends Icing & Glitter + Didier (check out their IG's + Blogs too!) call this area the Soho of Paris. You’ll find designer + directional boutiques, Chanel’s old apartment, great restaurants + cafes.
The Champs-Elysées - Located near the Louvre if your a fashion lover like me, this area is worth checking out. We just strolled and dreamed of all the high fashion items we'd buy if we won the lottery. The exteriors of the designer shops like Saint Laurent, Celine, Dior are so fun to look at. It can be intimidating to go inside but who cares, just do it!
EATS + DRINKS: Ober Mama – I know Italian food doesn’t’ feel intuitive in Paris but this place is so cozy, super cool and has the best food + cocktails I’ve ever had. Make a reservation if you can. I promise you will thank me.
Le Lobby – This is a place for those who want the ultimate Parisian-chic lunch or high tea experience. Located in the Peninsula Hotel, this place is next level gorgeous.
There's never a shortage of amazing food to eat in Paris. We just walked around and popped into whichever French café had available seats outside. I love how there’s heaters everywhere because I prefer to eat my cheese + wine outside so I can people watch. Why doesn't Toronto invest in some heaters?!
Make sure to check out Jose's Paris blog post too!
Our next stop is NYC so I'd love to hear all of your favourite New York suggestions in the comment area below! xx
