Happy Friday beauties! I'm sorry for being a little MIA this week. I've been dealing with a pesky cold and the 3 day snow storm didn't help. I'm not sure if it was the cold, the snow storm or the fact that I've been working most weekends and haven't taken a real break for a very long time but I've been feeling cranky AF. I love my job and really enjoying 'working' all the time but sometimes it's hard to separate work & home life because the line is so blurred. I'd say my cranky mood was probably a combination of everything. I don't like feeling cranky so I made sure to take extra good care of myself. Here's a few things that got me through the week and turned my mood around.
1. Stay off social media - scrolling through Instagram is a sure fire way to make yourself anxious and feel shitty about your life situation when you're sick, exhausted and in Canadian winter hell. Staying off social media, helps me dial it back and be grateful for all the blessings in my life.
2. Drink tea - Coffee is my everything and gets me through life but when you're not feeling well drinking a soothing herbal tea is so good for your soul and system.
3. Hot Yoga - This is a great way to de-stress your system and mind. I went 3 times this week and plan to also go this weekend. The instructor literally kept yelling 'BREATH' to me. Breathing is something I struggle with so attending yoga forces me to expand my lungs and flood my system with oxygen.
Needless to say, I am over due for a vacation!!!! Thankfully we're heading to Cuba next week for some much needed vitamin D and R&R. I'm going to do my very best to stay off social media for the most part but will try to share bits and pieces with you guys. xx
