Hi beauties,
To me, the perfect outfit is a total mix of highs and lows. The trick is knowing when to save and when to splurge. First, let's start with the building blocks of every great outfit (aka fashion staples). I suggest investing a bit more when it comes to staple items like handbags, outerwear and booties etc. You don't want to compromise on quality with those pieces because over time they're going to give you more mileage than just one season.
'You get what you pay for' rings true most of the time but their are some exceptions. Keep reading.
At first glance did you notice I'm wearing a $7 leather belt and a $19 tee both from H&M? What about the $20 bracelets from Aldo?
I suggest wearing at least one investment piece per look. Whether it's a great black leather bag, a moto jacket, or your go-to denim, these will elevate your entire outfit.
When shopping at fast fashion retailers like H&M and Zara, you don't compromise on materials and fabrics. Pay attention to the label. You can find some sick real leather pieces if you keep your eyes open. It's better to buy the $199 real leather Zara jacket vs. the $39 synthetic 'leatherette' alternative if possible. I don't recommend the 'I'll only wear it once or twice' approach. I also found this perfect grey tee at H&M for around $20. I love the linen fabric because it adds a touch of luxe to a basic look.
Now it's time to add those fun fashion items to accessorize and complete your look. These inexpensive bracelets from Aldo add a subtle trendy touch. I LOVE the little tassel details (totally trending) because it takes this timeless look and makes it current and on-trend.
