CHECKED INTO YSL BEAUTY HOTEL

Hi beauties,

When YSL Beauty asked me to go back to Paris for the opening of their latest pop up retail store, YSL Beauty Hotel in the super chic Place De La Madeleine district of Paris, I was ecstatic. I threw my best outfits into my suitcase, grabbed Jose to capture the whole thing and hopped on a plane.

Pulling up to the YSL Beauty Hotel instantly felt cool. YSL had transformed an entire building into a super edgy hotel experience where makeup junkies and YSL Beauty cult followers can shop around, try on their favourite YSL products and experience new spring launches before they hit stores.

As I entered the ‘hotel’ I arrived in ‘Le Lobby’, which was set up (intentionally I’m sure) as the perfect photo opportunity for Instagram. While snapping a few photos there, I saw YouTube star Desi Perkins and her photographer beaux taking snaps for her vlog! I knew immediately that this place was going to be awesome so we went off to explore the huge pop up.

Later that evening before the opening party I had the opportunity to sit down with YSL Beauty Global Director and Industry legend, Tom Pecheux. I asked Tom about his new role at the brand, what we can expect from his first collection and how to master the signature Parisian inspired, ‘day after’ Smokey eye look. Tom told me that for summer we can all look forward to a new game changing foundation – Touche Eclat All-In-One Glow. I got to try it and it looks and feels naked on the skin – super exciting! When I asked about mastering the perfect lived in eye look, Tom explained that you need to make your black liner perfect and then deconstruct by messing it up with a Q-tip so it looks like you’ve lived in it.

The highlight of the trip for me was the opening night party. The entire hotel was buzzing with the coolest of cool girls, bloggers, YouTuber’s, actresses and celebrities - Future, Zoe Kravitz, Diane Kruger, and Courtney Love to name a few. In the basement level of the hotel, champagne was flowing, French electro DJ’s were spinning and the crowd was partying. It was honestly a night to remember!

I wish you all could have joined me but not to worry because I’ve heard rumblings that that YSL Beauty Hotel Pop Up might be making a stop in Toronto later this year but no promises! I’ll keep you all posted as soon as I hear something, my fingers are crossed!
