This women is one of my style obsessions. Here’s a few things I’ve picked up from stalking her style over the last few years.

// Do your hair the night before. Have you ever noticed that your waves look better at the end of the day or when you first wake up, the day after? Hair just looks way cooler when you do it the night before and then sleep on it because your pillow creates natural texture and makes you look less “done”.

// Pick a signature style and don’t be afraid to stick with it forever. As someone who doesn’t really do many trends (compared to many other fashion bloggers) and someone who wears a lot of the same wardrobe staples for years and years - I really appreciate that when you look back at her style over the last twenty years, it’s stayed the same for the most part. She knows she’s a style icon so why would be move away from what works for her.

// Adding an androgynous overarching vibe to your look can still be sexy. I sometimes feel a bit uncomfortable in super “feminine” clothing because they feel “too pretty” for my personal style but I still like to feel sexy yet understated. When I wear delicate tops or bottoms, I’ll make sure to pair them with something structured and strong like a blazer or boot to add that cool, masculine, zero fucks given vibe. Why should women have to conform to a male’s identity of female sexuality? You can still be and feel sexy without wearing dresses, flower prints and bright colours.

// Wear clothes that make you feel your most confident. I’ve watched + read a lot her interviews and she always talks about how it’s better to have a few strong wardrobe staples that you feel your best in vs. a closet full of stuff you don’t love wearing.
